Join us this July in support of our northern Michigan neighbors at the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.
50% of all sales in the pub on Saturday, July 23, between the hours of 4-6pm, will be donated to the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.
The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail is a hard-surfaced, non-motorized, multi-use trail planned to span 27 miles from the northern end of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore at County Road 651 to the Leelanau/Benzie County line at Manning Road south of the village of Empire.
A citizen-led organization, the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail group includes representatives from 12 municipalities, the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, the Leelanau Conservancy, the Leelanau County Road Commission, Chambers of Commerce, TART Trails, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and others.
Through our Stormcloud Builds Community program, every month during the summer season and quarterly thereafter we select a charitable organization that we believe is making a difference in northern Michigan to share its message and raise money to help with its efforts.
In celebration of our third birthday this June, Stormcloud is honoring the cycling culture of northwest lower Michigan with fundraisers this summer to support local, non-profit trail systems. We started with support for the Betsie Valley Trail in June, which runs past our brewery, only a half block away, and extends 22 miles from Frankfort through Elberta and Beulah, then south to Thompsonville.
Join us Saturday, July 23 for a fundraising "tip of the pint" to support the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.
