BREWING A BETTER TOMORROW

Here at Stormcloud Brewing Company, every day is Earth Day. We’re not just about great beer; we’re also about doing our part to keep the planet as fresh as our craft brews. Whether it’s harnessing the power of the sun or cutting down on unnecessary energy use, we’ve brewed up some  eco-friendly initiatives at our Parkview Taproom & Brewery that we think are pretty neat. Here’s a peek at some of our green initiatives:

Sunshine Powered Brewing: We’ve got a 8 kWh solar system installed, featuring 10 two-panel ground-mounted arrays that follow the sun. These panels are constantly reorienting themselves to make sure we’re soaking up every last ray.

Giving Back to Local Farmers: We’re all about reducing waste and supporting our community. That’s why we send our spent grain  to local farmers. It’s used to feed livestock, turning what would be waste into valuable food for animals.

Maximizing the Daylight: We’ve got massive glass curtain walls and ceiling light tubes galore, letting in tons of natural daylight to light up our production area. Less artificial light = more energy saved, and way more vitamin D in our lives.

Water Recapture for Brewing: Brewing great beer starts with great water – and we take that seriously. We use a reverse osmosis system to purify city water, removing chemicals and minerals for a perfect brewing base.

Smart Lighting for the Brewery: All interior lighting is controlled by occupancy sensors and automatically shuts off when a room is vacant. Plus, all our exterior lights have photocells and time clocks, meaning they turn off at dawn – just like us after a long day of brewing.  On top of that, all of our fixtures are LED, which use less than half the energy of standard lighting.

Energy-Efficient Heating: Our office furnace runs a 95% efficiency rating, while our production area heaters are running at 90%+ efficiency.

We’re not just brewing high-quality beer; we’re producing a more sustainable and optimistic future that will benefit everyone for many years to come. Cheers to great beer and a better planet!
