JOIN US FOR ARCADIA GRIT & GRAVEL!
This one-of-a-kind mountain bike race takes you through a mix of gravel roads, two-tracks and the worldclass Arcadia Dunes trail system, this race is unique and will challenge your adaptability and perseverance (but won’t break you)!
The AGG spans territory covering two counties and is like no other in the state: a unique blend of wicked-tough gravel roads in northern Manistee County, some hidden gem two-tracks and finally, the world-class single track of the Arcadia Dunes C.S. Mott Nature Preserve trail system in southern Benzie County. The Arcadia Dunes trail system is part of a 3000 acre preserve owned and under the stewardship of the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy and to that organization, we are very grateful. It’s only with their generous support that we’re able to offer this one-of-a-kind event.
NEW FOR 2026: The MIGHTY GRIT 45: A LONG COURSE!
The AGG has been voted back in to the Michigan Gravel Race Series (thank you, racers!) and now that we're back, we're adding a long course: a 45 mile monster called the
Mighty Grit 45 which includes a spectacular coastline stretch of gravel rarely seen in the lower peninsula!
The Big Grit - now considered for MGRS purposes, the 'short' course - remains unchanged and may still be one of the longest 28-mile races you’ll ever gear up for. Even with miles of gravel roads, backwoods 2-tracks, and even some pavement, finishing this monster loop in less than 2 hours has proven a challenge for even well-trained racers.
Finally, we have the Mini Grit, formally the Short Grit, which is 15 miles of smiles and starts with a paved roll out and jumps right to a long but gradual gravel climb up to the Arcadia Dunes trail system.
Race Central will be at the Arcadia Community Center in Arcadia, and is a block east of M22 on Glovers Lake Rd. When the gun goes off, racers will be on a 2 mile paved roll out, then the fun begins. Gravel roads with plenty of elevation gain, some secret two-tracks and the incredible Arcadia Dunes trail will round out all three courses. Expect a gritty tough time with a seriously big fun factor.
