National Beer Day is celebrated throughout the US every year on April 7, marking the day that the Cullen–Harrison Act was signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 22, 1933. This act legalized the manufacture and sale of 3.2% beer and light wines, marking a major step towards ending Prohibition. It effectively ended the 13-year ban on low-alcohol beverages before the 21st Amendment fully repealed Prohibition later that year.
