Lakeshore Cleanup
- Volunteer Details -
Thanks for volunteering to help Stormcloud Brewing Co. in our quest to clean up our Lake Michigan shore! Please make note of (and don’t forget!) the cleanup area you have chosen. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of the cleanup in each area. You’ll find guidelines and details below. We will be in touch with more information via email a few days before the event, so stay tuned!
* All volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to and from their designated cleanup site.
* We love our pets too, but we request that you please leave them home this time.
Date of Cleanup: Saturday, August 23
Cleanup Start Time: 9:00am sharp! Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to your designated cleanup area. Specific meeting spots are listed below.
What to Wear: Weather-appropriate clothing. The beach cleanup will happen whether we have rain or shine!
What to Bring: Hand sanitizer, drinking water, sunscreen, bug spray, cell phone, reusable gloves if you have them
Provided Supplies: Trash bags, disposable gloves
*Reminder: Everyone in your group must sign a physical liability form at the start of the cleanup.
#keepbenziebeautiful: Take a photo of yourself and/or your group cleaning up and post on social media with the hashtag #keepbenziebeautiful for a chance to be featured on our social media accounts! Come on down to the Parkview Taproom or downtown pub Saturday afternoon to grab a nice cold beer (ages 21+), on us! Site leaders will hand out beer coupons at the beginning of the cleanup.
* We’ve designed special Keep Benzie Beautiful magnets, only available to registered volunteers at the start of the beach cleanup. *Available while supplies last
Prize Drawing: Three lucky beach cleanup volunteers will win either a Year of Beer Card, or one of two $50 Stormcloud gift cards! Keep an eye on your email the week after the cleanup to see if you’ve won any of these prizes.

Esch Beach
Meet in the parking lot at the beach.
Platte River Point
Meet in beach parking lot at the end of Lake Michigan Rd.
Frankfort Beach
Meet next to the volleyball courts.
Green Point Dunes
Meet at Green Point Dunes Trail (Second Parking Lot).
Peterson Beach
Meet in the parking lot at the beach.
Point Betsie Lighthouse
Meet just inside of beach entrance, to the right (towards the lighthouse).
elberta Beach
Meet at the beginning of the boardwalk that leads down to the beach.
Arcadia Dunes: C.S. Mott Nature Preserve
Meet at the end of Watervale Rd.
Tiesma Beach
Meet in the parking lot at the very end of the dirt road.
Congregational Summer Assembly
Meet at the top of the Lake Michigan stairs.
Elberta Dunes South Natural Area
Meet at the end of (short) Grace Rd. at the top of the stairs.
